My Gossip Girl set report for 08/17/12

I didn’t go to set early. I missed Ed which is devastating but i’m kind of okay with not having gone to set early cause i was there till midnight. I had taken an hour break, went home which was like more than 30 blocks away and then walked back to set.

I did a lot of walking because i had the worst of luck yesterday. Went all around 81st when the set was parked on 80th and 82nd, so i was in between the whole time and didn’t even know it.

Ok so i get to set, I see all of the trailers parked on one side 5th to Madison on 80th st, see a bunch of girls waiting, in front of Leighton’s trailer. I wait there. Few minutes after that, a van pulls up, Leighton comes out and gets in the van. The van drops her off 2 blocks up on 82nd and Madison, so i walk up there and that’s the set they’re filming on. I was standing behind the director’s camera but i got removed once they started shooting. So i went and stood on the other side of the street with all the fangirls

The scene that was being shot is between Sage and Blair. Since this is the cotillion episode, i kept that in mind. Well, the scene is page is walking up to a townhouse, bumps into this older man while carrying a white/maybe off-white dress in a plastic bag. (I assume that’s the dress she picked up for cotillion). After bumping into the man (because she’s so focused on the dress she isn’t even paying attention), she sees Blair standing in front of the townhouse. Her and Blair have a conversation than she goes inside the town house. Blair walks off a little and the director yells cuts. They shot that scene maybe 10 times.

they took breaks in between of course. Leighton wasn’t even wearing dress shoes which makes me think they only shot her from the bust. and Sage was wearing some fall boots. Leighton was wearing an orange dress with a brown cardigan. Her hair was in a pony. I have a fail video because i was kind of like all the way in the back. we got yelled at by the crew. they do treat us like shit sometimes which is my main peeve about going on set.

Well after that scene. Leighton shot a scene by herself in front of the house, making a phone call (I assume to Serena).

That was all for Leighton, she went to her trailer, changed and left.

Meanwhile i go back to 80th st. Chace is there in Blake’s trailer. He came to hang out with her and so he parked his audi right upfront. While i was there ten minutes. I guess he was there for longer but within 10 minutes or 15 of me arriving back to the trailers, he left Blake’s trailer, got into his car which was like 10 feet away from me and drove off. It was starting to rain at that point.

Meanwhile the crew was already setting up on Madison and 81st in front of Clarins Skin Spa.

Penn out of no where came out of the trailer in was standing in front of with his tank top and his guitar and then crossed the street, in my opinion, i thought he left. I had no idea there was another trailer parked on the next block.

So the rain really took off and all the girls had to group in front of a house. I and another girl went to sit at a restaurant instead to let the rain pass. Took like 45 minutes. The crew resumed setting up. So i walked up to Madison and 81st bc i was on 80th at the time. Right across from the Clarins Skin Spa. is a restaurant called E.A.T. and i saw a girl and boy dressed really glam sitting inside the restaurant (I had thought she was the blond minion but don’t think so). I didn’t recognize them but i thought they had to be part of the shoot. However the crew was set up on the other side of the street. and Blake came out. They shot her in front of the Clarins Skin Spa a couple times and then the crew reloaded all the equipment and started setting up on the other side of the street where the restaurant was.

Meanwhile they were setting up, i went to call my mom down the block, i see Blake approaching with her bodyguard and these girls stopped her and asked for a pic. She took the pic with them. So then i was scared to miss it so i ran up to her by her trailer and i said “Blake can i get a hug?” and she said sure. She hugged me. I was going to ask for a picture but her bodyguard was like, keep it moving.

so Blake went inside her trailer to change.

Then suddenly Penn came out again but he’s still wearing the tank top. So i wasn’t sure if he was shooting or not. I had thought he left earlier. Penn went inside the restaurant.

There was a lot of waiting. I was on the other side of the street but Penn eventually got dressed, white shirt, black suit and Blake was wearing a Black evening dress and her hair looked like it did on 4x18 for the photoshoot. She looked really pretty. She was shooting a scene, sitting in the front of the restaurant with Dan (If i didn’t know any better, i’d think Dan and Serena were on a date). They were served drinks and were talking. Then the girl who was sitting in the restaurant from before came and gave Penn a piece of paper. Blake snatched it away. This is what my eyes were able to make out because i was zooming in from my camera. I’m not saying it’s all accurate.

But it really seemed cute how they were sitting at the window front of the restaurant sipping drinks together, it almost looked romantic. What i assume is that the girl and the boy that were dressed all glam, sitting in the restaurant from before were from Cotillion. That’s one deduction i made. The girl looked really young and her dress was very pale pink sparkly. I don’t know what she handed Dan in the paper that Serena snatched from his hand. They shot that scene a lot of times, then she shot her coming out of the restaurant. It was like 11:30 by then.

While they were shooting Serena and Dan at the restaurant, Kelly Rutheford walked up to the set with her dog. I guess she just paid a visit. I was talking to her. she’s really sweet and her dog almost got bit by another dog that was walking by. We thought it was funny. She’s so beautiful and nice. I cannot tell you. She was on the set for like 10 minutes and left and then i went up to her and we started talking.

That was the bulk of what happened. Penn Badgley took group pictures as well.

I’m sure there’s more details i can’t remember.

Oh i don’t know if i said this as well but Penn was sporting really jelled hair. He looked like he was from the 60s, it was all sleeked back and jelled. lol
