Quick thoughts on Chuck and Blair at the moment.

So I’m not that terrible optimistic myself so I’m not sure how I’ll persuade some of you to be..

I’ve said before in this post that “I’m not too bothered with what’s happening. There’s a continuous theme throughout these past five seasons with the writers. Give CB fans a Chuck and Blair overload in the first half of the season, then do something to break them apart then near the end part of the season meaning the last two three episodes bring them back together again. And there is always a kissing scene between them as well.”

I still stick by what I’ve said cause ever since last season I was prepared for this to happen and DB to have some sought of relationship. However I am to an extent annoyed that suddenly they have to make it seem as though Blair has ‘lost’ her love for Chuck. ie. she may say things that are not how she truly feels. HA we can adopt Chuck’s line of “Your eyes are doing that thing where they don’t match your mouth.” Even in those few seconds in the elevator scene of 5.15 it was evident Blair still is in love with Chuck.

CB fans shouldn’t be too disheartened, cause what would we rather have. Chuck and Blair get together now only for them to be ‘destroyed’ again by the finale, or have them finally get together for good in those finale episodes?

In an interview I believe it was JS who said that Blair will make a definite decision on which man she chooses, we’re only at episode 17 at the moment, there are still another 8 episodes for things to change course.. and they will.

In response to Martina’s post I do agree with a lot of what she said, Blair can’t realise that Chuck is the one she loves the most, makes her the most happy and the one she wants to spend the rest of her life with if she were to be in a relationship with him right now. She needs to understand this on her own.

One of the more important aspects she needs to become fully aware of is that Chuck loves everything about her. A season ago she told Cyrus that Chuck only loves her dark parts, Blair must know that Chuck loves the happier parts as well. That Chuck is the one who accepts her for who she truly is. Chuck loves that she is: smart, fierce, beautiful, independent, strong willed, determined and witty. But also realises she is broken, in need of someone to believe in her and support her, accepts that she strives for what she wants no matter what, accepts she keeps secrets and may hurt the people around her, that she loves to scheme and be a part of take downs, loves burlesque and finally that she is the most powerful woman he knows.

At the start of the season she even told Chuck that she didn’t think that being a father ect was part of the lifestyle he wanted. In a way I hope at the end of the season this is reversed whereby she now comprehends that Chuck is the one she chooses. Blair did want to have him be part of her family in 5.10 (then the crash happened) however by the finale I hope they’ll be on their way to starting their own family together.

In the previous season Chuck was the one who decided the outcome of their relationship he told her to go and be happy with the Prince even though Blair wanted to be in a relationship with him. Hopefully near the end of this season Blair will choose to be with him and nothing else will come in their way.

Blair might be saying/acting in ways that we may be ‘disappointed/upset’ with, however similar words were professed by Chuck last season, and we managed to forgive and understand why he said that so I guess we must try to do the same for Blair now. As a consequence of how the previous episodes went, I feel this is why Blair’s actions/words have up setted me more. Still I don’t deem we should hate on her.

At the end of season 3 even end of season 2 Blair and Chuck both followed their hearts because they knew they are meant for each other. Blair told Chuck in 3.22 ‘I followed my heart because I love you.’ in 2.25 ‘Everywhere I went you caught up with me.’ Thus this season with Blair I hope something similar happens.

One review it seems as though things aren’t going well for Chuck and Blair however we as fans must really take upon the idea of ‘In the face of true love you don’t just give up.’ and ‘You don’t give up on the people you love.’ CB have spent the past five seasons confessing their love to each other, and wanting and telling the other how they are the ones they want to spend the rest of their lives with.
