marcia-fucking-brady said: worth it! and yeah i just saw the tweets about it now. well this is exciting! finally, haha. yay!!! :D
yeah i know. so exciting. made my day. i’ve waited for this for so long. i’m glad she’s giving NY a show. we deserve it. but make sure you get your tickets early before they get sold out. especially in NY and she might pick a small venue, hopefully not. *crosses fingers*
tickets aren’t available yet and she didn’t name a venue. just a date. but that’s enough for me. i can’t wait. even tho i’ll be back at school. shit!. september 8th is a thursday. i guess i just won’t go to class that day so i can come into the city for her show.
I think there's so many layers in that Chuck can treat Blair like she is his and he has every right to treat her how he wants and thus can be rough with her- though they haven't explored that well but to anyone who understands him, i think they know he has that in him and it should have been written much better
this seems like a random question. But i do understand why Chuck feels the way he feels. I never try to justify Chuck. I just try to arbitrarily explain his point of view because i believe i have a transcendental understanding of him as a person despite the fact that characteristically, i don’t think i share any resemblance with him.
The thing is Blair pushed herself toward him in that way. Her reason being she wants to show him love and she will go as far as she can until he can actually feel it. the normal measure of love she would give to Chuck wouldn’t be enough to fill the void. with Chuck being as emotionally damaged and mentally skewed as he was, he require an intense and massive amount of love, which Blair elected herself to provide him with because she wanted to be his perfect girlfriend, otherwise she would feel as though she failed.
That’s the reason why Chuck kept pushing Blair away in s2. He knew that he couldn’t allow her to love him because he would destroy both himself and her in the process. Once he would open his heart, all his demons would come running at them both. Blair wasn’t enough to tame his demons. he needed to grow more into the relationship to even be able to acknowledge their presence. so unfortunately and tragically, his demons led to his fall.
this brings home my point because in the process of curing his demons. the pivotal episode of 3x12 kinda sheds light on this. in 3x12 two things happened that are monumental for Chuck and Blair. 1st he finally allowed himself to let Blair in completely. 2nd, Blair made it her mission to save Chuck. In that scene when he says ” I don’t need you to take care of me”. I think that’s when the resolution came to her. she made it her duty to save her boyfriend from himself, naively ignoring that only Chuck can allow himself to be saved. so in the episodes following 3x12. i think that when their love grew interdependent because he had let her in and given himself f to her absolutely and completely and she had too eagerly and selflessly taken on the charge. which is what led "i didn’t think it was possible to love someone too much, but maybe it is". which kinda lends a bit of insight into why Chuck even comtemplated the idea of trading Blair in the first place ( if you want me to elaborate on this further than i will).
so in the time between 3x12 and 3x17, they are completely given into each other and they both grew a sense of entitlement because they were so much consumed by each other and their motive and their essence became the same. and empiracally that would be just to be together forever because that was the most important thing in the world to them. Blair makes a point of it in the most poignant way "We do belong together… At least we won’t be lonely in hell" so that’s why Chuck feels passionately that Blair is his. and that’s exactly what Blair wanted from Chuck, and she, herself felt that Chuck was hers, hers to save. Hers to mold into the great man she thought he could be.
so i don’t blame Chuck for feeling entitled to Blair. i think that’s how passionate and interdependent their relationship was which was unhealthy, even in 3x08, Blair had no friend, Chuck was her only friend and she even said "i have you. that’s all i need" which to me was alarming and foreshadowing a dysfunctional relationship; which is why they needed to break up and reassess how to love each other right. which is why i’m happy about the finale 4x22 because it’s positively optimistic that the lesson has been learned
sorry if i ramble. i just needed to put my thoughts together in this many words. if you want me to elaborate on any part. let me know.
i think leighton's extremely head strong to be so calm despite the whole issue with her mother - it's got to be a delicate subject
Yes. i don’t want to divulge into this because i think that’s something that extremely personal to her and the last thing she needs is people who don’t even know her adding their two cents. i just know that i love her and am proud of her and will always be her fan. and i wish her the best.
