well i haven’t thought much about them growing old together. Yes i want them to be together forever but i haven’t envisioned what it would be like that many years into the future. I want them to be like Allie and Noah though from the Notebook. srsly, the imagery of Chuck old and wrinkly doesn’t occur to me. i don’t even know how to start it off. But i guess they had a lot fun in their youth so it’s ok to grow old and wrinkly. It kinda saddens me to think about what their future will be like because it just won’t be the same as it is now. The passion won’t be the same, the lust won’t be the same. right now they’re so UNF UNF UNF, later they’ll be more like AWW. :(. this question made me sad. But then it could be good because they will have lots of cutesy moments and Chuck’s sweet side will come out more and more like we’ve never seen him before.
You know, i know exactly what you mean about not going there and that's exactly why I put it the way i put it. That's exactly why I brought it up.
I hate too the idea of being cute without the hot and young - I don't mean it in a shallow way.
"what if they stay like this forever. we can make them stay like this forever you know. they are fictional characters and yet we can’t really. i want them to stay like this forever okay. why did you ask me this question?"
Oh come on!! haha. I mean more the concept than CB specifically - I mean the idea of a beautiful, interesting sparkling chemistry and relationship between a young couple and what happens with time - also the fact that it happens to every single beautiful young person yet we look at old people as if they're another specie, like it will never happen to us ourselves, when we're young and having fun. You know!?
I though you're reply is very funny let's just take Ed or Leighton or Blake as an example for this case point instead - It will happen to each of them as individuals as well right.. so aside from what it's like for a couple's chemistry - even for an individual attractive wonderful person it happens -
Rhea, you have a point and i think you make a lot of sense. It’s just hard for me to grasp the concept of young people growing old. i really had never thought about it so intensely. you’ve been the one to open that question to me. um, right now i just want to avoid thinking about it. Not that age repulses me. Age is a beautiful thing i just cannot empathize with the concept of it. I srsly don’t know how old people act. I don’t have any grandparents, i never met any of them. I don’t have much of an extended family so i’m not familiar with it. I wish i had an experience with an elderly person maybe it would help put things in perspective. That sounds crazy but i don’t personally know any old persons.
Leighton’s charisma is 100 percent of that, the other reasons i listed, a mere decimal.
I didn't understand this bit.. A mere decimal compared to what?
Also, how would you describe Leighton's personal appeal, individuality/charisma in full - that firmly sets her apart from any other girl that is on the same level in terms of being attractive, confident, intelligent, smart etc. What makes her firmly individualistic? And also, where do you think her very strong sense of self that comes through in Blair and in general come from ( though not all the time)?
Again, pls. answer in full!
a mere decimal in the composition of the reasons why Blair Waldorf appeals to so many people.
Well i think Leighton is very modest in her approach. I think she’s confident but she’s not chauvinistic. personally that’s what i find appealing about her. I think her sex appeal is effortless. i don’t think she has to try at all to be sexy and when she doesn’t is when i like her best. I find her to be wise also beyond her years and candid about her history. I think she’s passionate about the things she’s involved with, her career, her causes. I love the fact that she’s socially aware. When she speaks she emits so much positivity. She’s forever grateful and always humbled. I mean being on GG for some many seasons and being the one who really holds it down, well at least for me, she has never expressed any desire to move on from it. she’s still very dedicated to her character and it does show in her performance. she works at it. she gives it her all. she has discipline. I think she is somebody to look up to, having been in the business for so long and still remaining grounded. Well she has said that her parents are really supportive of her so she always believed in herself. Also, she’s incredibly beautiful. And although i don’t approve of all her fashion choices, I’m very knowledgeable about the world of fashion and i understand why she goes there. It’s her life anyways and she’s only going to be this young once. People should stop judging her and admire her for her sheer talent and charisma. i know i love her. And i can also that her portrayal of Blair might be coming from a deeper place and the fact that she relates to Blair probably as much or more than i relate to Blair makes me love her more. She did say that she cold never play a character she didn’t like.
When you do that thing of repsoting the samepost with lots of gifs agaian and again your'e clogging ppls dashboard - it's not so great
i’m just having fun. i don’t think it should be a problem. i don’t do it everyday. well i’m sorry i clogged up your dashboard. um, but i can’t promise you it won’t happen again. maybe i won’t reblog as much. I do care not to upset my followers but nobody’s ever complained to me about this. thanks for the head-up.
1 - i don't know if you remember, but i ask some good fanfics and you send me your profile n FF, i'm loving them!
2 - just a random thing, but when do you start to see Chuck and Blair being more than scheme partners? because when i watched gossip girl, i already know about Chuck and Blair, but early in the season one (before the Limo) i've already saw some... hints, it's just me?
sorry for taking so long. my comp died.
um. well thanks for liking my ff choices
i started shipping CB after 1x18. that’s when i started lurking in forums and people were already hardcore shipping them, pointing out all their similarities and why they are perfect. I learned that gg is srs bsns. i learned the true meaning of the word EPIC. I leaned that scarves and headbands are more than just accessories. it makes sense now. i learned the term ‘ship’. people use to call them Bluck then, Bluck and Chair were interchangeable. that’s when i started shipping them. they became my OTP after that hug in 2x13. what a hug that was.
I'm asking the following Q to three GG blogs I like (where I like their views as well):
How do you interpret EL's chemistry and ease and synchronisation beyond what is not easy to describe for you. How do you then extend the same question to Chuck/Blair..
Why do you feel they have such appeal and are liked so much, what do you think is the base of that appeal?
What do you find most unique about them and their equation, understanding and body language?
I'd really really like to hear this in full because I gave thought to writing this question and worded it carefully to get to exactly point out which aspects I wanted to highlight.

I think it’s just natural chemistry between two people who happen to play a couple on television. i think their chemistry has carried Gossip Girl over the seasons. I’m quite sure that by now i would’ve probably given up on GG had it not been for EL’s chemistry. Also i think it’s their talent to convey so believably their relationship as a couple. And also not being afraid to take risks. Leighton has said that she feels so comfortable shooting with Ed that she’s not even afraid to go a bit far in the romantic scenes. Well i think that’s dedication to one’s craft and i commend her for that. The more risks i see EL take on TV, the more i love them, the more i wanna follow their careers down the line because i think that what a true actor is. Especially for Leighton, whom now to say that i love is an understatement. I really think they both push boundaries. I can’t wait to see them get the recognition. Also their synchronization may have to do with their personal relationship with each other. I have a feeling they’re really close IRL. Also, they’ve known each other for some time now.
Why do you feel they have such appeal and are liked so much, what do you think is the base of that appeal? What do you find most unique about them and their equation, understanding and body language?
i think originally it was the way their characters were written. the labels they fell under intrigued people. a lot of people say that they can relate to Chuck because he is such an imperfect human being. A lot of girls/boys can relate to Blair given her insecurities and her quest for affection and the perpetual rejection, the constant critiques, living in her best friend’s shadow. Leighton’s charisma is 100 percent of that, the other reasons i listed, a mere decimal. The fact that she had to work for the things she wanted, Her wanting to save herself for a special someone, her being a hopeless romantic, her being in love with another era, her planning out some many years into the future. Chuck on the other hand although a hedonist and sometimes a douche, is complex but relatable. Relatable because given his life circumstances, he is entitled to feel the way he does. Also the fact that he fell for a girl gave him plenty likability.
the most unique aspect of them is probably that they are perfect for each other and no one else. Blair is not perfect and neither is Chuck. But for each other they are exactly what the other needs.Plus i don’t know many characters on TV who have had that kinda love for each other.
bff otp for sure. and if you only watch their scenes then that's okay. I hope it gets better too. But as much as love Blair she is the one who complicate things because she's so insecure. Serena really hasn't done anything to their friendship beside the Nate thing and that was a very long time ago.
abstractdreams said: I’m glad you think so A. I agree ultimate OTP, bff’s soulmates and all that -but the show-version of their friendship isn’t appealing to me anymore. I hope it does get better tho, because their scenes are the only ones I’ll be watching from now on.
um, Yes Patricia, I agree with you 100%. However i think that she will be there for Serena from now on. I mean, if you saw how worried she was when Serena was missing and at the hospital when she couldn't get a status from the the nurse. And the way she was ranting to Chuck about it in the limo. She really does love her. They do love each other.
abstractdreams said: THIS. I disliked how Blair didn’t trust Serena. I know she has reasons to doubt her, but she could have acted different. No, they should be past this crap and learn to listen each other. /blaming the writers since forever.
